Carter Aldrete going to ASU

No wonder Carter Aldrete looked so relaxed during an interview on Tuesday
The Monterey junior made a verbal commitment minutes ago to attend Arizona State on a full ride baseball scholarship.
Of course, Aldrete can't officially sign until November of 2015. And there's the possibility of being drafted in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft after his senior year.
But the weight of making a decision is off his shoulders.
Aldrete, who had made unofficial visits to nearly all of the Pac 12 schools in the last year, has been the Toreadores starting shortstop since his freshman season.
A three-sport standout at Monterey, Aldrete tore up pitching during the summer on a high profile  travel team.
Aldrete is also the Toreadores starting quarterback, where he is on pace to shatter all the school records. He has also gathered some attention from college recruiters.
Aldrete's father Rich, played baseball at Cal, while his uncle Mike, played at Stanford and later for the Giants and A's.
His sister Annie was among the top freshmen in the nation last year as a catcher for the nationally ranked Tennessee softball team.
