The last time Carmel started the year 0-2, it went winless in 2000.
Now that's not going to happen this fall.
This is still the team to beat in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
Yet, the Padres defense has some holes to plug. In two games, they have given up 91 points. Dating back to last year's season ending loss to Pacific Grove, they have allowed 168 points.
Granted, Palma and Salinas aren't creampuffs. And Christopher will be an equal challenge next Saturday at Carmel.
Keep in mind that the Padres actually lead at points against Palma and Salinas. But you have to make plays on both sides of the ball.
That's not happening right now.

Carmels defense is terrible end of discussion. The only teams you can expect to beat on a weekly basis are the MTAL teams. Which isnt that big of a deal because some GAB JV teams could compete in that league. I scratch my head everytime i see carmels defense line up and why they dont have more kids play both ways is equally as confusing.
