Last year as a sophomore, Gutshall was 23rd in the Central Coast Section Division IV cross country finals, finishing as Santa Catalina's No. 3 runner.
She will go into this fall as the top returning runner for the Cougars and the fourth fastest returning runner from the Mission Trail Athletic League.
