With injuries disrupting the front line for Salinas last fall, Friostad stepped up and provided another weapon at the net for the league volleyball champions.
The 6-foot-1 hitter will be the focal point of the Cowboys attack this season, perhaps taking a few swing on the outside as well. Friostad is also one of the league's top blockers.
