North Salinas baseball

An argument can be made that the Vikings are having their finest season.
North Salinas sits alone in first place in the Pacific Division, a spot it has occupied since the first game.
What has eluded North Salinas this spring is a win outside the Pacific Division.
The Vikings are 11-1 in league, 0-7 outside league play going into today's non-league battle with Harbor.
 Is today a big game?
 No, it's a non-league game.
Then again, you want to erase that stigma of being winless outside league play.
Granted, the Vikings have non-league losses to Salinas, Monterey and Pacific Grove. In fact, all eight overall losses have come from teams that went to the playoffs last year.
Four of their losses have been by two runs or less.
Still, an extended postseason run can't happen without beating teams outside your league. And the Vikings are a playoff caliber team.
