An argument can be made that last Friday's win over Watsonville was the biggest for North Salinas baseball in two decades.
Duplicating the feat today at home against Watsonville would make that win even more significant.
A win this afternoon would make North Salinas 3-0 against the Wildcatz and Alvarez, the two teams chasing them in the Pacific Division.
Joseph Gutierrez was sensational in striking out 13 in last Friday's 3-0 win. Gutierrez has also swung a hot bat of late along with David Dorr.
Since starting the year 9-1 -- including seven straight -- the Wildcatz have hit a mid-season slump, dropping their last three games.
However, Watsonville is 6-0 on the road this year.
