Volleyball race

Palma created a logjam at the top of the Monterey Bay League volleyball standings, as three teams sit in a tie for first with three remaining.
So who has the advantage?
The Chieftains have the momentum after picking up their ninth straight league win, knocking off co-leader Christopher to create a tie at the top.
Alisal may have the most difficult challenge with two road matches. Yet, at the same time, it controls its own fate, closing the season at Christopher and Palma.
The Trojans fell in five to Christopher on March 13, then bounced back to beat Palma in four. Edgar Huerta has been a machine at the net for Alisal.
Should all three teams knock each other off, that could open the door for Seaside to gather a share of the league as it sits just one game back.
