Pacific Grove-Carmel softball

The rivalry itself fuels an adrenaline rush.
Adding to the energy is the fact that the Padres and Pacific Grove are locked in a five-way tie for first in the Mission Trail Athletic League going into today's game with five remaining.
And if you're the Breakers, there is probably a little more incentive.
When the two teams battled in the league opener, Carmel hammered them 17-1.
 So what's changed?
 How about pitching?
The Breakers have discovered it, having won four of their last five league games, including a 4-3 win over then first place Stevenson.
Victoria Harris has been on fire at the plate for Pacific Grove while Christina Lucido has become an RBI machine.
Pitcher Maddi Randazzo was sharp in her last two outings for the Padres, tossing a pair of shutouts while allowing a total of four hits.
Amber Clark has driven in 23 runs in 17 games for Carmel while Angie Savoldi and Lauren Salvati are spraying the ball all over the field.
