Redemption, though, will likely be on the minds of Santa Catalina, who saw its run of 36 straight league wins snapped at home earlier this year by Stevenson.
With its full arsenal of bats back after two of its leading hitters missed two weeks with concussions, the Cougars have looked more like themselves of late with five straight wins.
Of course, injuries weren't an issue in the teams' first meeting, in which Stevenson sophomore Jensen Main struck out seven in a 2-1 win.
Yet, while the Cougars seem to be hitting their stride, Stevenson has had nine days to stew over a pair of one-run losses -- the last of which put them in a four-way tie for first in the MTAL.
Sophomores Tatumn Satow and Marissa Bruno have both caught fire at the plate of late for Santa Catalina while 10 of Fresno State bound Chase LeeHong's 17 hits have been for extra bases.
