Notre Dame-North Salinas track

If you want to be a player in the league championships, you have to show up in dual meets.
Notre Dame has done that over the last two weeks, knocking off Salinas and previously unbeaten North County.
Now it finds much improved North Salinas in its path.
The Spirits are getting healthier with the return of Alex Lathos, who dropped 10 seconds last week off her 800 meter time.
The senior will double and run the 800 and 1,600 while Maria Aiello will be a double threat for the Spirits in the 100 and 300 hurdles.
Jackie Tarsitano, who was among the league leaders in the 300 low hurdles last spring, will run the 100 and 200 for Notre Dame.
The Vikings strength is in the weight events were Elizabeth Alcala and Tori Pena are among the league leaders in the shot and discus.
An event worth watching is the long jump where Nicole Hermosillo-Wright leaped over 17 feet last week for North Salinas. She will be pushed by Notre Dame's Samantha Fernandez.
