North County softball

Not one player was alive the last time North County won a league title.
Nineteen years is considered a drought.
While less than a third of the league season has evaporated, the Condors are sitting at the top, one of two teams still unbeaten in the Pacific Division.
No doubt, it helps having shortstop Janell Godfrey back after missing all of last year with an injury.
The senior leads the team in every offensive category. Godfrey's presence in the batting order has only helped the likes of Kim Eaton and Amber Duplissie, who has a grand slam to her credit.
Owners of four straight wins entering today's non-league battle with Harbor, the Condors will be a threat down the stretch if the pitching and defense continues to improve.
