Alisal football

Now what?
Cory Costanza's decision to abruptly step down as the Trojans football coach leaves the program searching for a new leader for the second straight year.
Let me stop you now by saying Sunil Smith is not coming back.
I'm not sure Costanza ever got a fair shot in his only season at Alisal to build his program.
Graduation gutted Alisal after a school record eight-win season in 2012. The program was pushed into the Gabilan Division, where it was winless.
And Alisal lost arguably its best player before the year started last fall in a jamboree when tailback Ricardo Muniz suffered a knee injury.
Yet, Alisal led in five games last fall in the first half before its lack of depth wore them down in the second half.
Depending on who you talk to, not everyone was on the same page last year among coaches. You can't build a program without support.
