These are two teams that have had strange paths to the start of their seasons.
I mean Monterey started the year 6-0 when it simply scored. The problem is it went three games in between those six wins without scoring.
The defending Gabilan Division champion Chieftains are still molding together a rotation. That dynamic pitching staff from last season has graduated.
That being said, Palma has started to find its comfort zone at the plate with Lukas Durate and Matt Smith both having four hit games, and Anthony Payan ripping a home run.
Monterey is manufacturing runs with its speed while Gavin Jarvis and Romie Miramontes have stung the ball of late.
