We are going to learn a lot about much-improved Greenfield over the next two weeks as it faces unbeaten Soledad for two games and defending CCS champion Pacific Grove for two games.
While Damian Ryan became Soledad's all-time winningest manager, the return of former minor leaguer Ray Green to the dugout for Greenfield has provided the team with a shot of confidence.
The Bruins, who won just one MTAL game last year, are off to a 2-0 start this year, sweeping King City last week for the first time in school history.
Soledad produced 44 runs in five non-league games, which included a win over Salinas. But it has not played in 11 days.
Daniel Faran will likely get the start for the Aztecs against Greenfield's Aaron Ruiz. Farfan and Joseph Ramirez have swung hot bats this spring, as have JJ Rodriguez and Daniel Diaz for the Bruins.
