Alvarez-Monterey girls soccer

Having already broken the single season school record for wins, the Toreadores can punch their ticket to the playoffs and gain a measure of redemption in the process.
Monterey's only Pacific Division setback occurred on Jan. 21 when it fell 4-1 to Alvarez. Since the loss, it has rattled off four straight wins to hold a one-game lead over the Eagles and Notre Dame.
Gabrielle Unowitz has produced 15 goals this year for the Toreadores while last year's leading scorer Aida Mora, shares the team lead with Unowitz in assists with 10.
Goalie Tania Arellano has six shutouts and 110 saves this winter for Monterey.
Jasmine Vargas has produced a career high 17 goals for Alvarez while Karina Valenzuela has eight shutouts between the pipes.
