Candlestick Park memories

Having attended 121 49ers games at The Stick, I've got a few memories stored in the bank to share over the 17 week regular season as the days of Candlestick Park are coming to a close.

 This one is different.
Three of the more horrific injuries I've seen on the football field ultimately ended the careers of two players.
While I've already written about Bryant Young's devastating injury at the Stick, there's another one that left a lot of us numb that Labor Day weekend on Sept. 5 1994.
While Jerry Rice was breaking the all-time touchdown record against the then Los Angeles Raiders, tailback Napolean McCallum suffered a career ending knee injury in the fourth quarter.
McCallum's knee was dislocated when his left cleat got stuck in the ground on a tackle from 49ers linebacker Ken Norton Jr.
Norton Jr. was forced to remain motionless underneath McCallum as trainers attended to the former Naval Academy star, leaving many to wonder which player was hurt?
The other injury actually occurred at Stanford Stadium when the 49ers were forced to move their game from The Stick following the 1989 Earthquake.
Fans in need of a shot in the arm, were left in more shock after all-pro safety Jeff Fuller was partial paralyzed after a hit, leaving the mood somber.
