This one is going to sting for a while.
To come back from a 21-point deficit to take the lead late in the game, only to fall with no time left on the clock left the Spartans numb.
The question now is can Seaside put this heartbreaking loss in the rear view mirror?
It doesn't have a choice.
The biggest game of the year awaits this week when it faces Monterey.
In addition, Seaside has not locked up a playoff spot.
Head coach Al Avila called it a tale of two halves in Seaside's 30-28 loss to San Benito.
And he's right.
Now, if he can only bottle the second half, the Spartans will be fine.
Then again, the lack of a running game kept Seaside from running out the final two minutes.
Instead, a dropped pass stopped the clock and forced a punt, giving the ball back to San Benito with 1:32 left.
You know the rest.
