Monterey football

The one thing I've learned about Monterey this fall is it learns from its mistakes.
After turning the ball over four times in a regular season-ending loss to Alvarez - which cost them a home playoff game - the Toreadores made amends, creating eight turnovers in a Division IV win over Menlo.
Jump back six weeks to when Monterey failed to hold a fourth quarter lead in a loss to Palma.
When the Toreadores found themselves in a similar situation two weeks later in Hollister, they ran off the game's final 14 points to beat the Balers.
These aren't sophomores getting their feet wet anymore. Monterey is 12 weeks into its season. It has eight wins.
And now it's one win away from playing for a CCS Division IV title.
