 No. 4 Harker-San Jose (12-11) at No. 13 Carmel (22-10), 7 p.m.
 This is a rematch of last year's Division IV opener, where the Eagles swept Carmel in three. That match was at Harker. This time it's in Carmel.
 The Eagles were fourth in the West Bay Athletic League's Foothill Division this fall, in front of Mercy-San Francisco.
 Captain Mercedes Chin has made it difficult for opponents to get the ball down, compiling 423 digs this fall for Harker. Divya Kalidindi and Shreya Dixit have combined for 498 kills and 52 aces.
 The Padres have been a defensive minded team with Julianna House compiling 358 digs this year, enabling setter Kaylee Arthur to move the ball around the net. The pair have also combined for 135 aces.
 Five different players have over 100 kills for MTAL tri-champion Carmel, including Makena Ehnisz and Megan Gonzalez. Chantel Waite recorded eight blocks in a match last week.
