Friday's game
North Salinas (5-2) at Alvarez (6-0), 7:30 p.m.
Did anyone see this coming at the start of the year?
I doubt it.
North Salinas and Alvarez are undefeated in the Pacific Division and playing for first place.
The Eagles are 6-0 for the first time ever while North Salinas has put together its first five-game winning streak in five years -- the last time it gathered a share of a title.
Three of Alvarez's wins have been second-half comebacks.
Edric Gamble is one of the more dynamic players in the county with his ability to change a game with his legs or right arm.
Justyn Gutierrez has already surpassed his career high for touchdown passes for North Salinas, which ran off 31 unanswered second-half points last week.
After giving up 92 points in its first two games, North Salinas has allowed 79 during the five-game winning streak.
