Alvarez football

Each week we keep waiting for the magic to vanish.
And each week the Eagles land on their feet and walk off the field with a win.
At some point, you've got to realize this isn't an accident.
While this isn't the greatest single season turnaround in Monterey County history, it's close.
Alvarez has gone from 0-10 to 7-0.
The only program that's had a better turnaround came in 1979 when North County went from 0-10 in its first season to 10-0.
 The Eagles aren't done.
Eleven years removed from its first and only league title, Alvarez is one win away from clinching no worse than a share of a league championship.
The Eagles have had a knack for the dramatic, and last Friday was no different, stopping a two-point conversation with no time left on the clock in a 36-34 win over North Salinas.
No one said it was easy.
