Two of the highest scoring players in the county will find themselves facing one of the elite goalies in the area when Monterey visits Salinas today in a battle of unbeatens in league play.
Colleen Mayone and Shannon Cry have combined for 47 goals in the Toreadores first seven games. Last year Mayone set a new school record with 97 goals.
In the box for Salinas is junior goalie Devon Cooper, who earned all league honors last year after compiling over 200 saves between the pipes.
A common opponent has been Stevenson, who Salinas outscored 15-7 while Monterey has beaten twice this fall by scores of 9-3 and 6-2.
