Friday's game
North Salinas (0-1) vs. Carmel (1-0) at MPC, 7:30 p.m.
How do the Padres respond after arguably their biggest win in school history.
Oh, Carmel said all the right things after the game. And there was little jubilation.
But how can there not be some emotional drop off after beating Palma?
The Padres have had their way with North Salinas over the last two years, in particularly Holden Smith, who has rushed for 485 yards and eight touchdowns in the teams last two meetings.
Smith chalked up 82 yards against Palma. He had that on one carry last year against North Salinas.
Big plays were a thorn in North Salinas' side last year and they were again last week when it gave up touchdowns of 66 and 68 yards.
Still both these teams have vastly improved defenses.
Over the last two years, the Padres and Vikings have combined for 154 points between them, or 77 points a game.
Not this week.
