Los Medanos-Hartnell football

Saturday's game
Last year's records
Los Medanos (6-4) vs. Hartnell (6-4) at Salinas High, 6 p.m.
After giving up 84 points in their first two games last year, the Panthers allowed 65 points over the next seven games, grabbing a share of the conference title.
The core of that unit is back with highly touted defensive end Kapil Fletcher and defensive back Sheldon Wynn anchoring the defense.
The offense is explosive with 1,000 yard tailback DeAndre Mann back along with receivers Da'Quan Smith and Zane Carroll lining up on the outside.
Hartnell may play two quarterbacks in the season opener. But at some point, I think you have to decide on a starter.
The Panthers dropped two games by six points or less last season. But the one that still stings is an overtime loss to Los Medanos, in which Hartnell blew a 21-point fourth quarter lead.
