The former Soledad High and Hartnell College hurler put together a strong rookie season for the Seattle Mariners Rookie League team in Arizona this summer.
The left-handed Guzman appeared in 15 games, compiling a 2.73 earned run average in 26 innings of work, striking out 38.
Guzman, 22, was 1-0 with one save, hitting 93 on the radar gun. Opponents hit just .174 against the 6-foot, 215-pounder.
