The former Monterey High and MPC post is leaving Texas A-M after one season for family reasons. Nothing more.
The 6-foot-9 Young is trying to transfer to San Jose State for his senior year, where he would join former Salinas High graduate Frank Rogers.
But he needs clearance from the NCAA, which has yet to occur.
Young does not have a redshirt year remaining.
But he does have options should the NCAA not clear him.
Young could play for a Division II program. In 32 games for the Aggies last year, Young averaged 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.1 minutes of action.
