It's appears that CSUMB pitcher Will Anderson and first baseman Nick Parent will forgo their senior years and sign professional baseball contracts.
Anderson became the first player ever from the Otters to be selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft when the Cardinals grabbed him in the 26th round.
Parent was taken in the 36th round by the Chicago White Sox.
Anderson posted an 8-4 record for the CCAA champion Otters, compiling a 2.45 earned run average with 86 strikeouts in 99 innings.
Parent started just 10 games for the Otters, hitting a home run in 48 official at bats. The 6-3 junior led San Joaquin Delta to a state junior college championship in 2010.
In addition, senior David Garcia signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Rays and will be assigned to a minor league team. The Gilroy native led the Otters in home runs and RBI.
