Out of baseball for two years, the former Soledad High and Hartnell College pitcher is expected to sign with Seattle in the next 48 hours after being drafted in the 31st round on Saturday.
The left-handed Guzman, who was going to enlist in the Marines, threw 93 mph during a tryout with the Mariners earlier this year.
Guzman, who is currently in Indiana pitching on a collegiate summer league team, hadn't pitched in a game since the summer of 2011 for the Santa Maria Packers.
