MLB draft

Pitcher Will Anderson became the first player ever from CSUMB to be drafted after he was chosen in the 26th round by the St. Louis Cardinals.
The right-handed junior hurler posted an 8-4 record in his first year for the Otters with 86 strikeouts in 99 innings, finishing with a 2.45 earned run average.
Opponents hit just .190 off the 6-foot-3 Anderson, who began his collegiate career at Fresno State.
Anderson has the option of coming back for his senior year at CSUMB.
Last year the Cardinals drafted former Salinas High and MPC pitcher Michael Aldrete.
Anderson is the first player in the county to be selected. There are still 13 rounds remaining.
