Late start for fall practices

With the Central Coast Section setting Aug. 16 as the official date for fall sports to begin, it will almost eliminate double sessions for most schools in the county.
 Some schools will have already been in the classroom for a week before practices can start.
 The late start apparently stems from Thanksgiving falling at a later date this fall.
 Most schools have three regular season football games in November this year. The CCS finals for football will be Dec. 6-7.
