Hartnell Hall of Fame

Hard to believe Hartnell College has never established a Hall of Fame for athletics after 80 plus years.
That changes on Nov. 16 when Hartnell will honor its first Hall of Fame class.
 But who gets the call?
There are a lot of athletes and coaches to choose from after eight decades.
If I had a selection from the last three decades, my first choice would be tailback Anthony Toney, who went on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles.
In my opinion, the 1981 North Salinas grad is the best athlete I've ever seen come out of Hartnell.
I think you have to look at former Panthers hurler Ernie Camacho, who had a decade long career in the major leagues, at one point holding the Cleveland Indians single season saves record.
For women, Felicia Brown might have been one of the best female track athletes to ever come out of a Hartnell program rich in tradition.
As for teams, how about the 1952 Junior College Rose Bowl champion Panthers football team, or the 1984 State champion baseball team.
When you think of coaches, you have to point to former football coach Marv Grim, former baseball coach Tony Teresa and former track coach Gary Shaw.
