What was a surprise is when Devin Hinson showed up to run the 110 high hurdles.
It was thought that a tender hamstring had ended his season in Tuesday’s Gabilan Division trials.
“I didn’t even tell my dad,’’ said Hinson, whose father is the hurdles coach.
Perhaps the warm conditions benefited the junior, who ran effortless in winning the race in 15.37, triggering Palma to its second straight league title with 144 points.
Teammate Marcus Washington was a triple event winner at the Gabilan Division finals, winning the 100, 200 and long jump.
