Say what you want about the equity leagues.
But it's working.
Seaside won its first boys track title in 35 years because it was placed in the Pacific Division.
This could springboard the program, which is filled with youth -- and excitement.
The equity leagues were meant to make the two divisions in the Monterey Bay League competitive.
It worked for Alisal in football as it set a new school record for wins last fall.
Of course, it's not always going to work. You're not always going to get it right.
But I think the first year was a huge success.
