Pacific Grove softball

Did we get a glimpse of the future at Pacific Grove?
A team filled with youth, giving defending league and CCS champion Santa Catalina all it could handle for the third straight game.
No team made more progress throughout the course of the season then the Breakers.
That youth showed up in critical situations on Saturday against Santa Catalina in the latter innings.
Pacific Grove was four outs away from pulling this game out. What it learned is it can't give good teams extra outs.
But this program is going nowhere but up.

I'm not a PG fan, but those girls played their heart out. The mistake was the coaches leaving one of the best pitchers in the county, Brianna Harris, on the bench late in the game. Unbelievable!!!'n

The breakers did a fantastic job. Thank you John for the great article finally that talks about the breakers in a positive way. Santa Catalina made a pitching change early on to help them. Although the pitcher did a great job for PG.... they should of made a change in the last couple of innings as well.

Yes thank you John for the excellent article. A lot of us in Breaker Land were tired of them being referred to as "no names" when we've got several players who have been great rec and travel players for years. Cierra pitched a great game and the girls outplayed Catalina in my opinion. It's unfortunate that Brianna, who threw a gem against Carmel on senior night to put us in the playoffs, didn't get a chance to close it out, but they still had a great season.
