Being the defending CCS champions, 28-0 this spring and the No. 2 seed warranted a road game in the second round at the lower seeded teams home.
It's happened before in the quarterfinals. But.....
Understandably, the Breakers are pissed off.
Yet, Pacific Grove has to put that anger aside and focus on the task at hand, and that's chasing a CCS title.
The Division III playoffs are as balanced as any division. There are no creampuffs.
This is a rematch of last year's quarterfinals, in which Pacific Grove blanked the Gators 11-0.
The co-West Bay Athletic League champions have relied on their pitching staff, which has a 2.22 team earned run average.
Pacific Grove's pitching staff has not allowed a run in its last five games.
