Michael Aldrete

 The former Salinas High and MPC shortstop has made eight relief appearances this spring for the Peoria Chiefs of the Class A Midwest League.
 Aldrete is 1-1 with one save and a 4.30 earned run average for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league team.
 The 5-foot-10 right-hander, whose father is the St. Louis Cardinals hitting coach, has 13 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings of work.
