JC State track

It's conceivable that the Panthers women's track team could be among the top five in the state after Saturday's championships at College of San Mateo.
Victoria Alcala is the favorite in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:21.34) and is ranked second in the 5,000 (18:19.55).
Teammate Amy Johnston will go into the 1,500 ranked No. 2 at 4:42.95. The Notre Dame High grad could also produce points in the 5,000.
The Panthers have two finalists in the triple jump in Ashley Jones and Kassandra Peguero. Jessica Mattos is chasing a school record in the discus while Hartnell's 400 relay team will look to lower its school record mark of 47.61.
Austin Decker, who has been the men's state leader in the pole vault for most of the season, comes in with a season best of 16-feet-1.
Former North County High teammate Aaron Vaughn is ranked sixth in the 110 high hurdles (14.77) while Michael Ramirez will run the 5,000 less than 24 hours after Friday's 10,000.
MPC's Isaiah Brown is ranked fourth in the triple jump at 48-2.
