Hawaiian punch

First baseman Marc Flores and second baseman Stephen Ventimilia have had strong second halves for the University of Hawaii baseball team.
Flores, a King City High and Hartnell College disciple, has raised his batting average to .283 in 42 starts, while leading the Rainbows in doubles (14), homers (2) and total bases (63).
Ventimilia went into the Rainbows final season series at UC Riverside with a season high eight game hitting streak, raising his average nearly 40 points this month.
Hitting leadoff or in the No. 9 slot, Ventimilia, a Monterey grad, leads Hawaii in stolen bases and is fourth in runs batted in (14), and fifth in hits (33) in just 33 starts.
