Carmel-Half Moon Bay softball

Saturday at Hawes Field, Redwood City, 2 p.m.
Carmel (16-10) vs. Half Moon Bay (21-6)
Division III
When you have an ace in the circle that's capable of throwing a no-hitter each time out, you've got a shot.
And that's what Carmel has against the No. 2 seeded Cougars, a member of the Peninsula Athletic League's Bay Division
Brittany File has fired five no-hitters this year, opening the postseason with a one-hitter in Carmel's 6-0 win over Scotts Valley.
The biggest difference right now for the Padres is their defense has improved. And File isn't the only one producing at the plate as Angie Savoldi and Alexandra Franklin have had clutch hits.
Half Moon Bay, who had a first round bye, is 7-1 on neutral sites this year.
