Expectations are nothing new at Salinas.
That's what happens when you're a perennial playoff team.
Yet, since rattling off four straight wins to open the Gabilan Division season, the Cowboys have gone just 2-9-1 in their last 12 games -- their worst stretch since 2004.
Outside of a gem pitched by Ross Scarr following a 1-4-1 road trip in Anaheim, the pitching staff and defense has struggled -- 30 runs in the last three games.
I still think four teams from the Gabilan Division will make the playoffs. And Salinas still sits in fourth place. But right now this team has no identity.
