San Jose State trio

Former Palma hurler D.J.  Slaton has compiled a 2.88 earned run average at San Jose State. While Slaton is still looking for his first win, he leads the team in innings pitched and strikeouts.
 Teammate and Monterey alum David Wayne Russo has two of the Spartans four wins this spring, sporting a 4.64 earned run average. In four starts, Russo has had three solid outings.
 Michael Gerlach, who played at Carmel, has started all 14 games for San Jose State in the outfield, having scored nine runs. He has yet to make an error in 39 chances in the field.
