Is it wrong to call a season opener a big game?
Not in the MBL's Gabilan Division.
The Cowboys (9-3) are flying under the radar this winter as Palma and Seaside have been tabbed as the teams to beat.
Salinas and the Spartans faced each other earlier this year in a tournament with Seaside prevailing 49-41.
Seaside wasn't tested much in the preseason in going 9-1. The one loss was a 16-point setback to Antelope. Salinas is 3-0 in games decided by five points or less.

Salinas hasn't really defeated any notible team yet. Seaside has defeated Salinas. Palma if they play A game is probably at least 15 pts better than Salinas this year. Anything can happen, but at least at this stage I think you have the top 3 rankings right. Why not add Santa Cruz Athletic league teams to rankings? They play each other enough.
