Don't think for a minute that it dampens the fire of a rivalry between Palma and Salinas, who meet tonight at 'The Corral'.
While Allen's loss is significant, the Chieftains are still players in the Gabilan Division, sitting two games behind unbeaten San Benito and one behind Seaside.
 Allen, who tired to play in the second half last week in a loss to San Benito, isn't expected to suit up again until the soft cast on his fractured right wrist comes off for good, which could be any day.
 Four of Salinas' five league games have been decided by four points or less, including last week's one-point win over Christopher on a shot by Josef Delk with four seconds left.
 Salinas is playing just its fourth home game of the season.
