PG-Carmel boys hoops

All of a sudden this game has significant meaning other than it just being a rivalry.
Just one game separates the two peninsula rivals in what will likely be a sold out gym tonight at Carmel.
The two-time reigning MTAL champion Padres won the first meeting 50-44, their closest game on the court in league play.
Pacific Grove has climbed back into title contention with four straight wins. Prior to that, it had won just three games all year.
Jordan Borne is averaging nearly 15 points a game during the run while Luke Lowell and Kevin Russo have taken turns leading the team in scoring.
The emergence John Stivers has ignited Carmel. The 6-foot-1 freshman is averaging 21 points a game in league play while Thomas Spanos is 14-of-15 from the free throw line in league.
