Having spent most of his career on the defensive side of the ball for Palma, Powers verbally committed this morning to Arizona State on a football scholarship to be an offensive tackle.
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound lineman did spend part of last season on the offensive line for Palma during its seven game winning streak.
Powers was weighing offers from numerous colleges, including Pac 12 rivals Washington State and Utah.
Palma now has three athletes from this year's senior class headed to the Pac 12.
Noah Allen committed to UCLA on a basketball scholarship while Jay Burlison is headed to Cal on a golf scholarship.

interesting little twist by switching to OL. Thought he could have been moved to a 3 technique. he has the frame to gain some strength and weight but I dont know if he has the frame to put on another 50-60 lbs. One thing is forsure no matter what position he plays he needs to get stronger. A lot stronger. Maybe that played a role in him switching to OL. He is definitely a good enough athlete to make the switch.
