The defensive back put together a strong senior season at the University of Utah, intercepting one pass while recovering a fumble.
 Topps, who prepped at North County, finished as the teams fifth leading tackler with a career high 46 — including 32 solo tackles. He also compiled four sacks, broke up five passes and forced two fumbles.
 In four years at Utah, Topps, a former CCS 200 meter champion in track, finished with 95 tackles. He also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in 2010.
