Mike Maker

Former North Salinas High playmaker Mike Maker won his 100th game as a college basketball coach at Williams College in Williamstown, Ma.
Maker, who was a part of North Salinas' Central Coast Section Division II boys basketball title teams in 1984 and 1985, is 100-23 in five years as a head coach at Williams — 7-1 this winter.
Before becoming the Williams head coach, Maker played college basketball at Hartnell and was the women's head coach for the Panthers for one season.
During his 23 years as a basketball coach, Maker has had stops as an assistant coach at Creighton, West Virginia and Dartmouth.
A member of the North Salinas Hall of Fame, Maker has guided Williams to a pair of Division III Final Four appearances. Last year Williams tied the single-season school record for wins with 23 — including 18 straight.
