Final football grades XV

Seaside
It certainly didn't hurt landing two of the best athletes in the county as transfers to ignite the Spartans offense this fall. But I don't know if anyone saw a school record 11-0 start.
Seaside became just the third county team since 1984 to beat Palma. Its defense allowed just 62 points in 10 regular season games.
But things will be different in the MBL's Gabilan Division next season. But if Seaside had been in the Upper Division this year, it might still be playing today. Grade: A.

Will you please explain how you think seaside would still be playing today if they were in the Gabilan Division? If they were in the Gab and won it they would have been placed into the Open division. And I think the open division is a little more difficult to win in then DIV...So how in the world would they still be playing today? If anything they would have been playing less they more then likely would have been knocked out in the first round.

They would have lost in the first round if they played in the higher division. If Menlo picked them apart, they would have had a much more difficult matchup with any of the WCAL teams or an Oak Grove. In D1, not so sure they would get past Milpitas or San Benito. Seaside had lots of talent, but they played very inconsitent at times barly beating a MVC team. While I would give them an A for their pre-playoff games, getting bounced in the semi]s of the small school playoff by the runner up isn't that great. They underachieved in the playoffs as did Salinas. Both those schools should have been in the finals...but their defenses crashed.

Well they beat the two top teams in the Gabilan Division and you have them ranked number one in the county so obviously you think they are the best team in the county so why wouldnt they? And losing the Gabilan Division wouldnt have made any difference they still would have been in DIV which they lost. And even if they did win DIV they would have had atleast 1 loss and wouldnt have been selected over undefeated MC and Sutter. The only chance they would have had is if that one loss came against San Benito. Really thought John please explain your thinking as to how they would still be playing today?

Today was suppose to mean for a CCS Division IV title, which I believe they would have played for had their schedule been stronger. For some reason, this blog came out a week after it was written. Sorry for the confusion.
