CCS Division I Semifinals
Salinas (23-8) vs. Menlo-Atherton (25-6), Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. at Santa Clara High.
These teams played each other in the Mitty Tournament on Sept. 15, in which Salinas posted a 15-8 win in Game 5 to win the match.
In 2009, Salinas swept Menlo-Atherton to capture the CCS Division I championship, en route to reaching the state finals.
Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division Most Valuable Player Laura Meyenberg was a freshmen on that team for Salinas.
Both teams were undefeated in their respective leagues with the Bears going 14-0 in the Peninsula Bay League.
The Bears, who have won seven straight matches, swept San Benito in the second round of the CCS playoffs. Katelyn Doherty has 280 kills and 345 digs.
Meyenberg has formed a lethal combination at the net opposite Maddy Mandon, feeding off sets from Erin Reineking. Courtney Bramers is an all-league libero.
