For the first time since 2008, the battle for "The Shoe" has title and playoff implications.
While Carmel has already gathered no worse than a share of its fifth straight MTAL title, the Breakers can earn a share of it if they can snap a four-game losing streak to their rivals.
 A Padres win could give them a No. 2 seed in the CCS Division IV playoffs behind Seaside. A loss could drop them out of the Top 4.
 Pacific Grove locks up a playoff spot with a win. But a loss would mean it would have to hope it has enough points to qualify as an at-large team in Division IV.
